Katie Frie MSN, RN, APRN, PHN, ANP-BC, GNP-BC, Assistant Professor at Winona State University, Winona, Minnesota, School of Nursing since 2017. She is currently teaching in the undergraduate nursing program with focus population health. She is involved in both theory and practicum instruction within the Nursing program. Recently awarded as a mentee through the American Public Health Association’s mentorship program for newpublic health leaders. Katie has also been granted a fellow in the Nurse Leadership program through Duke-Johnson & Johnson for 2019-2020 program year. Currently a Doctor of Nursing Practice candidate with emphasis on Practice and Leadership Innovation through Winona State University. Applying an Evidence Based Practice project titled: Improving Preparation of Public Health Preceptors by Implementation of a Dedicated Education Unit (DEU) in a Public Health Agency. Since 2011, Katiehas and, is continuing to practice as a dual-certified Adult and Gerontology,Primary Care, Nurse Practitioner. With emphasis in serving individuals and communities in under-served and under-insured areas of need.
